I’ve just finished editing the Discussion for Book One and renaming some of the chapters. The changes to the chapter names can be found below. Further down are the reasons for changing the names. Warning: The explanation for the name changes may contain slight spoilers.
- Chapter Two: Second Section has been renamed Initiation Sector
- Chapter Three: Halls has been renamed Frigid Halls
- Chapter Four: Base has been renamed The Abandoned’s Base
- Chapter Five: April 16th, 2011 has been renamed “Morning of April 16th, 2011”
- Chapter One: Fate has been renamed Memory
- Chapter Four: Middlegame has been renamed Activation
- Chapter Five: Capture has been renamed Rescue
The renaming of the Second Section chapters was mostly for clarity. The quotes around Morning of April 16th, 2011 are also important as the date isn’t truly April 16th, 2011 at that point. For Third Section the chapter names were updated to be more descriptive and more accurately reflect the contents of the chapters. Chapter One didn’t have enough material about Fate to be called that. Chapter Five was more about a Rescue than a Capture.
Another new feature in the First Edition of Book One is a page separating the sections within sections. When you move from the final chapter of a section to the Discussion, there will be a page containing a small sentence advising you to read the next part at your leisure. I know that many times when I am near the end of a book I find myself reading rapidly just so I can finish it. These messages are meant to slow you down and let you know it is okay to finish at your own pace. Of course you can ignore these completely if you’d like ^_^
I expect the full Book One release will be available for download by noon EST tomorrow. The PDF file is currently 83 pages and between 400-500 kilobytes in size. The word count is probably just under 43k words. Everything is so nearly done it’s a bit difficult to believe. I guess I’ll have no choice but to believe it after I upload the file and release the link.
December 10th, 2011. The full release of Library: Book One (First Edition).
